The River Dart at Hembury Brooch depicts the tiny island in the River Dart at Hembury Woods, where the water eddies and glints as it swirls around the rocks.

Silver is formed to reflect the undulating river course and the glinting water is engraved in a sketched style. A 2mm blue ethically sourced sapphire is set in gold inside a domed silver setting, representing the island. The brooch has a handcrafted hinge, its pin combines silver with 9ct gold.

The brooch is made from recycled sterling silver and 9ct gold.

It can be worn every day, on knitwear, jackets and coats.

Dimensions and Specifications

The brooch length is 53mm length x 27mm  width, 10mm (approx) depth at the widest point including the handcrafted hinge and clasp.

The sapphire was ethically mined in Sri Lanka and sourced from the UK leader of ethically mined gemstones, Nineteen48. Learn more about how Stuart Pool sources the gems, how they are looking after the land, the miners and the gem cutters he works with.
