The Expanded Skies Raw Garnet Spiral Filigree Necklace has a beautiful raw Norwegian garnet set in a distinctive completely handcrafted 9ct gold filigree and claw setting. It features the neolithic symbol of the spiral, representing the life force and the cycles of life. This is unique piece, one-of-a-kind is reversible and can be worn front or back facing.
Handcrafted on the edge of Dartmoor and made from high quality recycled gold, Hallmarked by the London Assay Office.
Geologically: Almandine Garnets has a cubic crystalline structure. Their composition is iron aluminium silicate.
Culturally: The word garnet comes from the Latin word granatus, meaning pomegranate. These Norwegian garnets are shaped like large pomegranate seeds. Garnets have been used for centuries in jewellery including by the ancient Egyptians.
Energetically: Garnets are often associated with grounding, new life, creativity and bringing balance to the base chakra.
Dimensions
The necklace measures approximately 20mm height, 30mm across, with a depth of 15mm approx.
The necklace has an integral 1.2mm 9ct gold trace chain (recycled precious metals) with a handcrafted ‘S’ clasp in 9ct gold.
The raw, unpolished ethically sourced garnet measures is roughly circular 12 x 12 mm and has natural facets, inclusions and textured surfaces. It is from the north of Norway and supplied by geologist Emily Coulter www.crystalcasestudies.com
