The Expanded Skies Dartmoor Scarab Pendant Necklace is inspired by the Dumbledore or Dor beetle, otherwise known as Geotrupes stercorarius. The Dumbledore beetle a familiar site ambling along the paths of Hembury Woods, and in woodland across Dartmoor.
Scarabs modelled on dung beetles have featured in jewellery, least since ancient Egypt, where it represented the sun god Khepri and symbolised rebirth, with the sun rising each morning.
The Dartmoor Scarab Pendant Necklace is totally handcrafted in 100% recycled fine silver (999) with 24ct gold accents which I apply using heat and pressure, using the Korean gilding technique called keum boo, which makes each piece unique. It can be worn every day or for more formal occasions.

The pendant measures 15mm x 8mm (approx) with a 2.5mm depth.
The pendant comes with a 1.5mm sterling silver spiga chain also made from recycled silver. Various chain length options available (see below).
