Expanded Skies Sapphire Sky Blue Heart Pendant has a beautiful ethically sourced Sri Lankan mid blue faceted sapphire set in 9ct gold on a silver heart wound with 9ct gold accompanied by a small silver disk. Totally handcrafted on the edge of Dartmoor and made from high quality recycled sterling silver and recycled gold. Understated and beautiful, it can be worn every day or for special occasions.

Geologically: Sapphires and rubies are all corundum minerals, an aluminium oxide formed of hexagonal (trigonal) crystals. Traces of iron and titanium produce a blue sapphire.

Energetically: Blue sapphires are often used in energy healing to balance the third eye and throat chakras, assisting with mental focus, insight and clear communication. Blue sapphires are associated with wisdom and clarity.

Dimensions

The pendant measures 11mm across, with a depth of 12mm approx. Each heart is individually made and vary very slightly

The blue faceted sapphire has a diameter of 2mm

The pendant comes with a sterling silver or gold chain (recycled precious metals) in various lengths and types (please select below).

The sapphire was ethically mined in Sri Lanka and sourced from the UK leader of ethically mined gemstones, Nineteen48. Learn more about how Stuart Pool sources the gems, how they are looking after the land, the miners and the gem cutters he works with.

Presentation and packaging

The necklace is packaged in a beautiful presentation box, handcrafted in Cornwall with recycled board and textured paper. The interior of the box is lined with natural felt from organically reared sheep from Fernhill Farm in Somerset and berry tissue made from recycled fibres secured by a sticker on recycled paper that is home compostable.

The box comes with a card featuring a photograph of Dartmoor, taken by Emma, with details of the brooch, printed on FSC certified paper. All the packaging is 100% recyclable, but ideally is reused again and again.
