The Expanded Skies Dartmoor Daisy Necklace is hand engraved and inspired by the Erigeron Karvinskianus, commonly known as the 'Dartmoor Daisy'. While originally from Mexico, the daisy was introduced to Britain in 1856 and now can be found growing wildly in stone walls and crevices, attracting an array of pollinators.
First Emma draws the daisy onto the fine silver and then she engraves the design using hand engravers. She saws and files the daisy and then fuses the 24ct gold to the surface using the kaum boo gilding technique of keum boo. The bail is made from recycled sterling silver, hand engraved, formed and riveted.
Dimensions and Specifications
The daisy pendant measures 12mm, the bail measures 6mm, total length 18mm with a depth of 2mm (approx). Each piece is individually formed, hand engraved and unique.
The silver is 'AgAIN Fine Silver' sheet is refined by Betts Metal from recycled UK X-Rays and is almost pure silver (999). The 24ct gold is refined in Japan from recycled Japanese electronics.
The sterling silver 1.5mm rolled Spiga chain is made from recycled sterling silver in Italy.
