What you will do: Create a beautiful wide silver ring in this fun workshop. The workshop includes some design tuition, you can develop your own design elements, or use one of the templates if you prefer. Choose a textured or smooth finish. For complete beginners and those who have made some silver jewellery before. Suitable for those over the age of 13, if booking with a parent or guardian.
You will take home a beautiful wide silver ring and gift wrapping, a set of polishing papers and a detailed instruction guide.
This is a great introduction to silver jewellery making. Learn or develop your skills in forming, sawing, the technique of sweat soldering and polishing. Create your own design or use one of templates designed by Emma. All materials and use of tools included.
Please bring: Please bring a fabric apron, wear closed-toes shoes, and tie back loose hair. You may wish to bring a packed lunch or there is food available to purchase from many local shops, delis and cafés (there will be an optional short break).
Your teacher: Emma is a jewellery designer-maker and has been teaching art and design in universities and colleges for over 25 years. Emma runs Expanded Skies Jewellery and Precious Objects and is an Associate Member of MAKE Southwest and Member of Ethical Metalsmiths.
